Monolit

  • Dust inhibitor
  • Increases concrete wear resistance by up to 50%
  • Reduces concrete water absorption

Colour: Colorless, may contain precipitate.

Consumption: 4-8 m²/L depending on surface absorbency.

Drying time:Apply the second layer within 5–20 minutes at a temperature of 23ºC and relative humidity of 50%. At lower temperatures and higher humidity, the drying time will be longer. Before further treatment of the surface, wait at least 3 days. The treated surface will achieve full wear resistance and strength within 3–4 weeks.

Volume/weight:3 L – 10 L

Properties

Agent for enhancing concrete strength and wear resistance for interior and exterior applications

  • Penetrates deeply into concrete pores and microcracks
  • Chemically reacts with free calcium carbonate in cement, transforming it into a dense crystalline structure – a geopolymer
  • Provides wear resistance, water resistance, and impact strength
  • Reduces water leakage by 5 to 10 times
  • Increases concrete hardness and wear resistance by 30–50%
  • Reduces concrete dusting
  • Improves adhesion of coatings (facade paints, floor paints, and varnishes), enhancing coating durability
  • Suitable as a standalone surface finishEU VOC content limit: (subcategory h – 30 g/L). Maximum VOC content in the product: <30 g/L

Purpose

For treating concrete surfaces. Suitable for concrete floors, walls, plinths, columns, and paving slabs in warehouses, workshops, production facilities, car repair shops, parking lots, garages, water treatment plants, sewer wells, sidewalks, and other similar areas. Also suitable for treating asbestos cement boards and plastered walls (including lime plaster). Can be used for both indoor and outdoor applications. Not suitable for fresh concrete (less than 14 days old). If necessary, the surface may be treated with a hydrophobizing agent or painted, but not earlier than 3 days after application.

Types of surfaces

Concrete surfaces for interior and exterior applications.

Surface preparation

The surface to be treated must be cleaned of loose elements, dust, grease, oil, and other dirt. The temperature of the surface to be treated and the air must be between +5 and +35°C. At temperatures above +25°C, the surface must be moistened with water, but care must be taken to ensure that no water remains on the surface. In general, the product is not suitable for use on fresh concrete (up to 2 weeks old), but it can be used earlier for priming concrete elements that are to be painted, provided that the technological conditions and temperature required for the concrete to harden are observed. The product damages the structure of glass and aluminum, so avoid contact with these surfaces.

Application

The product is ready to use. Do not dilute. Apply to the surface using a low-pressure sprayer, such as a garden sprayer or watering can. For small or vertical surfaces, use a wide brush or a long-nap roller. The sprayer should be positioned 20–30 cm from the concrete surface. Apply in even layers, with each subsequent layer added after the previous one has absorbed (depending on absorption rate, within 5–20 minutes). After each application, repeat the treatment to cover transition areas between treated sections. The surface must be saturated; any unabsorbed material should be removed with a rubber squeegee or brush—puddles must not form. Consumption per layer is 0.1–0.25 L/m². On porous concrete, consumption may reach up to 0.35 L/m². If a white layer appears on the concrete, use an alkaline cleaner to wash the surface. If the surface has not been fully cleaned of unabsorbed material, the resulting gel must be removed with a scraper or stiff brush. Treat walls from bottom to top in strips 30–40 cm wide. Cover transition areas between treated sections with repeated strokes. If painting is planned afterward, the surface must be washed with water. The wash water can be conveniently removed using a sponge or rubber mop. For maximum protection against oil and other contaminants, or on very porous surfaces, a second treatment should be performed after 12–24 hours. If necessary (not earlier than 3 days), paint or a water- or solvent-based hydrophobic protective agent may be applied to the treated surface.

Tools

Brush, roller, garden sprayer, watering can.

Tool cleaning

Wash with soap and water after completing work.

Safety precautions

Caution Contains sodium silicate. Causes severe eye damage and skin irritation. IF ON SKIN (or hair): Immediately remove all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately contact a POISON CENTER or doctor. When seeking medical advice, take the product packaging or label with you. UFI: X220-C0K7-G00Y-Q7K2. Keep out of reach of children. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. As a preventive measure, it is recommended to use standard personal protective equipment bearing the CE mark, in accordance with Directive 89/686/EEC. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Keep locked away. The product damages glass and aluminum surfaces—rinse immediately with water if contact occurs. In case of fire, use a multipurpose powder extinguisher (ABC powder). Tap water is not recommended for extinguishing.

Waste treatment

Avoid or minimize the generation of residues. Do not pour into the sewage system. Prevent release into the environment. Dispose of as chemical waste in accordance with applicable regional waste legislation. Liquid residues must be delivered to a hazardous waste collection point (Waste Code 08 04 09). Information about collection points is available from the local municipality or the Environmental Board. Dried residues may be placed in household waste containers. Empty, dry packaging should be taken to a packaging waste collection point (Waste Code 15 01). Returned containers must be properly cleaned before recycling. For larger quantities, contact the Estonian Recycling Organization MTÜ at eto@eto.ee.

Storage conditions

Store and transport in a tightly sealed container at the temperature between +5…30 °С. Protect from exposure to freezing and direct sunlight.
