Drying time: 1–7 days depending on weather conditions and the condition of the wood (when applied with a brush).

Properties

Natural compound for the protection and decorative finishing of outdoor wooden surfaces.

    • Based on linseed oil and pine tar.
    • Gives wood a refined appearance, creating a beautiful transparent coating with a golden-brown hue.
    • Penetrates the wood well.
    • Creates a water-repellent surface.
    • Keeps the treated surface dry, preventing wood from rot.
    • Protects wood from cracking and the weather impact.
    • Has a characteristic natural tar smell.
  • Maximum permissible EU VOC content for the product (subcat. e) 400 g/L. Maximum VOC content in the product <400 g/L.

Purpose

Treating wooden items and structures: log constructions, siding boards, garden furniture, greenhouses, terraces, verandas, fences, wooden barrels and pools, structures on children’s playgrounds etc.

Do not use on previously painted or varnished surfaces.

Types of surfaces

ДVacuum-treated and thermally treated wood as well as untreated wood of any species.

Surface preparation before  treatment

Wood moisture content must not exceed 20%. Perform application at the temperature above 5 °C and relative humidity up to 80%. Clean the surface thoroughly from dirt, grease and dust.
The wood must not be damaged by mould and algal growth.
Use the wood cleaning agent WoodClean or anti-mould agent Biotol E to pre-treat the surfaces damaged with blue stain or mould.
We recommend priming the surface with Biostop primer before applying the product.
Clean previously painted surfaces completely, using a scraper, a stiff brush, a heat gun or varnish remover OPS Pro.
Remove the darkened areas of the wood mechanically, using a stiff brush, and replace dead wood. Use galvanised fasteners for fastening the treated wooden parts.
We do not recommend performing the application in direct sunlight or at high temperatures.
Please pay attention to the constructional methods of protecting wooden surfaces: good waterproofing of walls and the roof, water drainage and ventilation. The result of using wood protection products depends on the adequate use of constructional methods of the protection of wooden surfaces.

Application

Do not dilute. Stir the product thoroughly before use. Apply the product evenly from edge to edge along the grain. Take special care to treat the ends. Remove the unabsorbed excess product with a cloth.
Apply 1–4 coats, sanding between the coats, depending on the quality and use of the wood. Use the product from one batch. When different batches are used on the same surface, the product must be mixed in a single container to ensure that the colour is even We recommend treating surfaces exposed to the weather impact once per year.

Wash tools with turpentine Männitärpentin after completing work.

Safety precautions

Warning. Harmful if swallowed or in contact with skin. Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Causes serious eye irritation.  Causes skin irritation. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Contains tar, wood (CAS: 91722-33-7); turpentine, oil (CAS: 8006-64-2). If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of reach of children.  Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product.  Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.  Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Call a POISON CENTER/doctor if you feel unwell.  UFI: EC30-X0X6-300D-MCA1.  Store locked up.

Waste treatment

Avoid release to the environment. Dispose of the contents/containers in accordance with the current legislation on waste treatment. Contains linseed oil. Oily rags, waste, and other oily materials can cause spontaneous combustion fires if not handled properly. Spray dust, cloth and other contaminated material should be wetted and placed in a metal container. Store in a fire-proof place.
Waste treatment methods: code 08 01 11* – Waste paint and varnish containing organic solvents or other dangerous substances. Waste class (Regulation (EU) No 1357/2014): Dangerous.

Storage conditions

Store
in a tight container at the temperature between +5 °C and +30 °C. Protect from direct sunlight and frost.
