Purpose


Priming new or previously painted steel, aluminum, zinc and other metal surfaces. For external work

Metal surfaces: roofs, cornices, gutters, window sills, ventilation pipes, fire ladders, flagpoles, etc.

Surface preparation before  treatment

The surface to be primed must be dry, free of rust, moss, oils and other dirt. To remove peeling paint and rust from previously painted surfaces, sandblasting (to a degree no less than Sa² according to ISO 8501-1) or manual cleaning with a steel brush or sandpaper is recommended. OPS Pro can be used to remove old paint. Be sure to wash the cleaned surface with Katto Cleaner before priming, then rinse with water and allow to dry.

Application


Mix well before use. Apply 1 coat of paint with a brush or a spray. Use a nozzle size 0.015 - 0.019 inch when working with a high pressure spray. When spraying, add 5-10% of water to paint. The temperature of the surface to be painted must not be below +10° С and above +40° С. The relative humidity must be below 80%. The painting work should be timed so that the treated surface can dry before the evening dew appears. It is not advisable to work in hot weather, direct sunlight, too cold weather, rain, fog. Please follow the instructions for use of the above products.

Drying time

Dust-free – 2 hour, between coats – 8-24 hours at +20º C and 80% relative humidity. At lower temperatures and higher humidity the drying time is prolonged.

Safety precautions


Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Warning! Hazardous respirable droplets may be formed when sprayed. Do not breathe spray or mist. Contains 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one, Reaction mass of 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (3:1). May produce an allergic reaction. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid release to the environment..

Waste treatment


Avoid or minimize residues. Do not empty into drains. Avoid release to the environment. Collect spillage. Dispose of the contents/containers in accordance with the current legislation on waste treatment. Liquid residues should be taken to a hazardous waste collection point (waste paint and varnish containing organic solvents or other dangerous substances 08 01 11). Information about the collection points is provided by the local government or the Environmental Board. Dried residues may be disposed of in the municipal waste container. Dispose of empty, dry packaging for recycling at the packaging collection point (Waste Management Code 15 01). Returnable containers must be properly cleaned before being recycled.
