Properties

Matt acrylate water-borne paint for wet and dry indoor areas
  • Excellent opacity
  • Easy applications without dripping or splatter; easy to level out
  • The paint does not give off harmful substances into the air and has been classified as emission class M1
  • Exceptional decorative properties: provides a smooth dense matt non-porous coating
  • Due to the self-crosslinking dispersion, the formed surface is stronger and less porous that prevents the penetration of complicated dirt (coffee, tea, fruit juices, wine, sauces, markers, watercolor paints, pencils, pens, lipstick, etc.)
  • The exceptional mechanical strength of the coating is ensured by the use of a special natural aluminosilicate solid component
  • Highest grade of wash resistance (Class I according to EN13300)
  • Remove stains and dirt immediately after they appear
  • Can withstand moderate rubbing without becoming glossy

Maximum permissible EU VOC content for the product: (subcat a): 30 g/L. Maximum VOC content in the product <10 g/L.
Gloss:
  • Matt (approximately 7) in accordance with EN 13300
  • Group 5 according to RYL 2012

Wash resistance:
  • Class 1 in accordance with EN 13300

Surface preparation before painting

The surface to be painted must be carefully cleaned from loose or peeling material, dirt, grease and dust. Sandpaper durable alkyd substrates until they are matt and remove the dust thoroughly. If the surface is very dirty, wash it with EasyClean. Use a putty from the FILLER line to fill cracks, holes and uneven areas. Sand the filled surface to make it even and remove sanding dust. Prime filled surfaces with Aquastop or Tiefgrund, in wet rooms with Aquastop Bio moisture barrier to reduce porosity. Follow the product instructions for use.

Application

Stir the paint thoroughly before application. Mixing tinted paint in one container is recommended. Apply 2 coats with a roller or spray gun  at the temperature between +10 °C and +25 °C and relative air humidity below 80%. When using a spray gun or for the application of the first coat, dilute the paint with water in the amount of 5% until it reaches working viscosity. Apply undiluted paint for the finishing coat. Avoid application in drafty places and at high air temperature (over +25 °C). When painting, make sure to keep a wet edge.

Care for the painted surface

Under normal circumstances, the coating reaches its initial level of water-repellent (hydrophobic) protection within 1–2 weeks after application, so we do not recommend cleaning the painted surface during this period. In case the painted surface needs to be cleaned earlier, do it cautiously with a soft damp cloth. Remove stains and dirt immediately after they appear.
Under normal circumstances, the coating reaches its peak wash resistance in 3-4 weeks, after which it can also withstand more vigorous cleaning.  To clean the painted surface from dirt, use warm water and a soft washcloth or microfiber cloth.  Do not use abrasive tools or detergents, stiff brushes or rough sponges.
As a rule, the painted surface regains its water-repellent properties in 5–7 days after it is cleaned with a damp cloth, but the timeframe still depends on the detergent or tool used, on how vigorous the cleaning process is and how dirty the surface is. The use of a detergent may prevent the surface from regaining its hydrophobic properties. However, the absence of the paint’s water-repellent properties will not reduce its resistance to washing.
