Types of surfaces for painting

Previously painted or newly prepared concrete, plaster, putty and drywall surfaces.

Surface preparation before painting

The surface to be painted must be cleaned of brittle and peeling material, dirt, grease, and dust. Glossy surfaces should be sanded to a matte finish, and sanding dust must be carefully removed. Substrates should be washed with the cleaning agent EasyClean and allowed to dry. Surfaces requiring filling should be treated with a suitable filler (from the Filler series), and unevenly absorbent or porous surfaces should be primed with a moisture barrier such as Aquastop or Tiefgrund. Follow the product usage instructions.

Application

Stir the paint before use. Apply two coats using a roller, brush, or spray at a temperature of 10–25 °C and relative humidity below 80%. Under unfavorable conditions (use of heating devices, high temperature, or low humidity), we recommend adding the drying time retarder TIME+ to the paint. For the first coat or spray application, we suggest thinning the paint with water up to 5% by volume.

Tools

Paint roller, brush, spray gun.

Tool cleaning

Remove excess paint from the tools and clean them immediately after painting with water and soap.

Safety precautions
