Purpose

Recommended for the wooden facades that are not in contact with the ground, surface, or seawater. Suitable for the decorative treatment of wooden structures (walls, fences, gates, gardens, windows, doors, etc.). Colorless Balance is intended for use in a tinted form! Colored Balance can be used as the first layer to give a tone to wooden surfaces (stairs, handrails, etc.), but it is essential to apply a wear-resistant varnish over it. For outdoor use.

Types of surfaces to be treated

New untreated or old coating-free wooden surfaces, structures, chipboard and fiberboard, plywood, veneer, log and other wood products, including pressure-treated wood. Suitable for both sawn and planed surfaces. Can be used on all types of wood, including dense varieties. Not to be used on biologically damaged surfaces.

Surface preparation before treatment

The wooden surface to be treated must be dry, with a moisture content not exceeding 20%. The appropriate working temperature is above +5°C, and the permissible relative humidity is up to 80%. The surface must be carefully cleaned of dirt, grease, and dust. Use WoodClean for cleaning and bleaching the wood. After cleaning, rinse the surface thoroughly with clean water and allow it to dry. Previously painted surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned of old paint using a scraper, brush, heat gun, or paint remover (OPS Pro). Rotten and decayed boards must be replaced with new ones. It is recommended to use galvanized fasteners for securing wooden elements. New or fully cleaned surfaces should be primed with deep penetration impregnation (Biostop). Work should not be carried out in hot weather, direct sunlight, strong winds, rain, or fog. Ensure that the treated surface has time to dry before evening dew forms. Pay attention to structural wood protection methods, such as good drainage, ventilation, and waterproofing of the foundation, walls, and roof. The effectiveness of wood protection products depends on the proper implementation of these structural wood protection methods. Follow the instructions for the products listed above.

Application

Mix thoroughly before use. To ensure a uniform color tone, choose products from the same batch or mix different batches together before applying. Apply 2 coats to the surface with a brush. Apply evenly with a brush from edge to edge along the wood grain, covering one to three board widths. Pay special attention to finishing the edges and end surfaces. For previously coated surfaces, it is recommended to use the same or a similar shade of wood treatment. The final color of the treated surface depends on the wood type, the number of applied layers, and the presence of knots. Colorless Balance is intended for use in a tinted form and is not suitable for outdoor work when used as a clear coating. When treating large surfaces, it is advisable to mix all products together in one container to maintain a consistent color tone. Follow the instructions provided for the listed products.

Care for the treated surface

Under normal conditions, the treated surface reaches peak wash-resistance in one week. Use water or a neutral detergent (рН 6–8) for cleaning.
