EU VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) content limit: subcategory i – 130 g/L. Maximum VOC content in ready-to-use paint: <130 g/L.

Purpose

For treating wooden products and structures: terraces, cladding, walkways, handrails, stairs, bridges, railings, etc. For outdoor use. Can also be used on wooden surfaces and structures located under canopies. To prevent wood from fading, it is recommended to use tinted oil or pre-tinted oils such as Terrace Aqua brown and palisander for outdoor applications. Not to be used on lacquered or painted surfaces. Not suitable for surfaces with biological damage. Not suitable for treating painted surfaces.

Types of surfaces

Used for protecting previously oiled, pressure-treated, and all types of untreated wooden surfaces. Well-suited for treating planed wood.

Surface preparation before painting

The wooden surface to be treated must be dry; the wood moisture content must not exceed 20%. The appropriate working temperature is above +5°C, with a maximum relative humidity of 80%. The surface must be thoroughly cleaned of dirt and dust. For maintenance and deep cleaning of wood, use the product TerraceClean; for bleaching, use WoodClean; and for removing mold and green growth, use Biotol E (follow the product instructions carefully). Pressure-treated wood should be treated only after 6 months from installation. Rotten or decayed boards must be replaced with new ones. Do not use on biologically damaged surfaces. For fastening wooden elements, it is recommended to use galvanized fasteners. New or cleaned wooden surfaces should be primed with Biostop before oiling. For dense wood decking boards, we recommend sanding the surface to roughen it or treating it with a special alkaline agent to improve absorption (TerraceClean). Avoid working in hot weather, direct sunlight, strong wind, rain, or fog. Ensure the treated surface has time to dry before evening dew forms. Pay attention to constructive wood protection methods—good drainage, ventilation, and proper wall and roof waterproofing. The effectiveness of wood protection products depends on the use of proper constructive protection methods.

Oiling

Stir before use and occasionally during application. Apply 1–2 coats evenly from edge to edge along the wood grain using a brush, sponge, or terrace pad. Ensure no untreated areas remain. Pay special attention to finishing the end grains of the wood. Remove excess oil from the surface with a cloth. Before applying the next coat, allow the previous layer to absorb into the wood and wipe off any excess oil. The final color tone depends on the wood species, the tools used, and the number of oil layers applied. Before installing cladding boards, it is recommended to treat the reverse sides as well. Surfaces exposed to weather year-round should be treated annually. When using tinted oil, mix the products in one container to ensure a uniform color tone.

Care for the oiled surface

Under normal conditions, the treated surface reaches abrasion resistance within 1–2 weeks. After this period, the surface can be cleaned using a soft sponge or brush. For cleaning oiled surfaces, we recommend using the cleaning agent TerraceClean (dilute according to the instructions) or neutral to mildly alkaline (pH 6–8) cleaning products. Do not use abrasive cleaners, organic solvent-based products, or rough sponges and brushes. Do not use pressure washing. After cleaning, rinse the surface with clean water and allow it to dry.

Tools

Brush, sponge, terrace pad.
